Elvis left Breckenridge in the morning behind the wheel of his Cadillac. Elvis performed later that day at Owl Park, Gainesville, Texas, where he still was largely unknown and only drew a handful of people.

Maybe due to the flight problems of the other day or just because Elvis was tired, the session at RCA's Nashville studio didn't went very well. Just one song was recorded in 3 hours: " I Want You, I Need You, I Love You".  While Elvis was in the studio he was presented with a gold record for "Heartbreak Hotel".  After the session Elvis and the band took a flight back to Memphis where in the evening Elvis stopped by Dewey Philips' radio show at the Hotel Chisca.

Elvis was drafted for another public relations oriented event when he was sent to Steinfurth as part of a work detail to help erect a memorial statue for veterans of WW I. Elvis bought a Welchsler stereo and some records in Bad Neuheim.

Elvis and Priscilla spent Easter in Palm Springs at their new rental house on Camino del Norte.
