Elvis flew to Hawaii at 9:00 a.m. accompanied by his entourage. The Colonel, who was already in Honolulu, had arranged a helicopter for Elvis to bring him from the airport to the hotel. On his walk from the helicopter to the door of the Hawaiian Village Hotel, Elvis lost his yachting cap, his diamond ring and his jeweled tie, due to 8,000 screaming fans.
