Elvis made a brief radio appearance with Scotty and Bill in the evening on radio station KWEM in West Memphis, Arkansas, with Dixie and Scotty's wife Bobbie accompanying them.

Elvis performed at the Fairgrounds, Tupelo, Mississippi.

Elvis did a promotional appearance for Eddie Bellmand at the downtown clothing store.

Elvis reported to 20th Century Fox at 9:00 a.m. for preproduction work on Flaming Star.

Elvis held a press conference at 12:30 a.m. During the show he confessed he was " a little nervous for the first three songs, but then I thought, what the heck, get with it man, or you might be out of a job tomorrow". The evening show took on the normal routine of two shows a night, at 8:15 p.m. and midnight.

Elvis performed at the Hampton Coliseum, Hampton Roads, Virginia at 2:30 p.m.
