Elvis flew to San Francisco with Priscilla to visit her family, which were stationed at Travis Air Force Base, near Sacramento.

Elvis and Priscilla took out a construction permit for renovations on the Monovale house.

Elvis arrived in Memphis and attended a show at the Memphian which, instead of being open to the usual large circle of friends and fans, was closed to all but the inner circle.

Elvis was out of town, possibly in Dallas for 2 days.

Elvis returned to the Stax Studios for a weeklong session. To be sure there would not be the same troubles recording as in July, RCA sent its recording truck, with 4 engineers. They started the session at 9:00 p.m. and worked till 4:30 a.m. and they finished 2 masters.

Elvis tried to persuade Ginger to stay with him in at his Las Vegas engagement, but Ginger told him that she wanted to see her family after being with him for almost 2 weeks. Finally Elvis flew her mother, father, brother and wife and her 2 sisters to Las Vegas instead. During the late show this evening Elvis was very tired and it showed. He even said to the audience: " I hate Las Vegas". Elvis finished the show, but not without talking a lot to the crowd about his thoughts.
