Today, on 29 June in Elvis History

Elvis performed at Curtis Gordon's Radio Ranch, Mobile, Alabama.

Elvis and his party took a chartered plane to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they caught a Delta flight to New York City, where Elvis was fitted for a tux, for the rehearsal for the Steve Allen Show. After that Elvis took a train to Richmond.

Elvis was released by the studio and flew to St. Louis with Gene Smith. There he rented a car and drove back to Memphis.

After a 7:00 p.m. cast insurance medical exam, Elvis resumed soundtrack recording at the MGM recording stage till 3:00 a.m.

Rehearsals started at 9:00 a.m. Then at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Elvis taped the two stand-up segments, this time not only in front of a live audience but with a full orchestra, conducted by Billy Goldenberg.

There was a screening at the Memphian tonight and every night until Elvis returned to California.

Elvis performed at the Omni Atlanta, Georgia.

Elvis performed at the Municipal Auditorium, Kansas City, Missouri at 2:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Elvis had surgery on his foot in Memphis.

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia.
