Elvis and the band flew from New York City to Charleston, South Carolina, arriving at 11:03 a.m. He performed at the County Hall, Charleston, South Carolina at 3:30 and 8:15 p.m.

Elvis sent a telegram to June Juanico to meet his train during a brief layover in New Orleans. There she told him that she was engaged to be married. Elvis arrived in Memphis at 11:35 p.m.
