Elvis performed at the YMCA Arena, Lexington, Kentucky. Elvis was not feeling well and was attended by a physician before the show. He told reporters his success "appears to be a dream to me. I hope I can continue to please the public.

Elvis bought a 1956 Ford for Anita Wood.

Elvis traveled by train from Nashville to Miami, for the Frank Sinatra show. Once again there were thousands of fans along the route.

The soundtrack recording for Blue Hawaii began at Radio Recorders at 1:00 p.m. They worked until 11:50 p.m. In 2 days there were 15 songs completed, including Can't Help Falling In Love. The usual Nashville players were there including Hal Blaine, a percussionist, and steel guitar and ukuleles to help create a Hawaiian sound.
